Elmer Passivhaus nears completion
Elmer Passivhaus, a self-build house only 50m from the beach in West Sussex, is nearing completion. A self-build from scratch, it’s a great way to get a house that’s tailored to your exact needs.
Now the external cladding is virtually 100% complete and we are delighted that the final airtightness test achieved Passivhaus Standards.
The pre-weathered zinc cladding by VM Zinc is complete to the roof and first floor and photovoltaic panels clipped on. Insulated triple glazed windows are by IdealCombi, a family-owned Danish company. The entrance canopy is a bespoke design, manufactured by local specialists in architectural and structural metalwork, Littlehampton Welding Ltd.
Elmer Passivhaus heralds a new era of low-energy housing to the area, providing super-comfortable living with cheap running-costs and cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
