About Ruth Butler
I am passionate about working with clients to create modern, low-energy architecture. My design approach is characterized by an ability to listen, understand and synthesize my client’s needs into a contemporary form.
I work on a broad spectrum of projects, including sports and leisure facilities, educational buildings, sensitive conservation and refurbishments, offices and residential buildings.
From the leading edge Passivhaus standard to advice on listed buildings and sensitive sites, I bring our clear thinking to complex problems. I often work with multi-headed clients; engage in community consultation and deliver projects within demanding timescales. In fact, I prefer it that way – the more complex the problem, the more creative the outcome. I have an established track record for achieving planning permission on difficult sites.
My architectural skills are complemented by specialist RIBA Client Adviser services to both the private and public sector. I deliver impartial and informed advice to help start, structure or develop your project or estate master plan.
Established in 2010, our work has been published widely and we have appeared on BBC’s ‘£100k Home – Tricks of the Trade’ and shortlisted in New London Architectures’ ‘Don’t Move, Improve!’ exhibition.
Recent Projects include: Hampshire Passivhaus (certified); Community sports pavilion; St Mary Magdelene Through-School on the Greenwich Peninsula (RIBA Client Adviser); Outdoor Learning Project, St John’s School; Cricket Pavilion & Pitch (RIBA Client Adviser); Creek View, Bosham.
“We consistently hear very positive comments about the design of the building, which has contributed significantly to the regeneration of the local area. In particular visitors like the look and feel in terms of the amount of light.” London Borough of Camden, Leisure Department
